Your job goes into the boat’s log, under your name
Boatyards, mechanics and engines, sails and rigging, antifouling, electronics, electrics, winter storage, joinery, upholstery: if you work on boats, what follows concerns you. 1,134 businesses in these trades are already in Hullteam’s directory.
What it changes, in practice
You service an engine in March. You send the invoice, the owner files it somewhere. Two years later, they sell the boat. The buyer asks when the service was done, by whom, and what was replaced. The owner searches, finds a PDF in their emails, and the buyer takes their word for it — or negotiates the price.
With Hullteam, you entered that service yourself, in three fields, with your invoice attached. Two years later, it is still there: dated, priced, and marked confirmed by an identified professional. That is not the same as an invoice uploaded by the owner, and the log tells the two apart. Your name is in the file when the boat is sold.
Two levels, and the owner chooses
By default: your jobs
You see the log, you enter what you did, you attach your invoices. You touch nothing others have written, and you do not see the boat’s private documents.
If they entrust it to you: the whole log
The owner can entrust you with keeping the whole log — past history, due dates, documents. It is a choice made boat by boat, and withdrawn whenever they like.
One case is worth mentioning: the boat’s builder can also complete the log of boats of their brand, when the owner allows it. The boatbuilders page.
How to start
Either the owner invites you from their boat’s page and you receive a link. Or you add the boat from your space, giving the owner’s email address: they receive a request, and nothing is visible to you until they have answered.
